Vidyasagar Institute of Safety & Fire Technology is established under Dakshin Gumai Vidyaniketan Educational Society, under Society Registration Act 1961, Government of West Bengal.

The Institute, in an environment with both rapid scientific and technological advances and economic changes, will be recognized for its excellence and innovation in Education, Research, and Community Services.
GOVERNING BODY
For well functioning of the institution, Vidyasagar Institute of Safety & Fire Technology has an executive council which acts as the Governing Body. This committee consists of a board of members, who meet at regular intervals to discuss various issues. It is the Governing Body who drafts the Rules and Regulations of the institution for smooth functioning of the institution.

Vidyasagar Institute of Safety & Fire Technology, Mahishadal, is established under D.G. Vidyaniketan Educational Society, under W.B. Govt. Society Registrations Act 1961.
It is affiliated to West Bengal State Council of Technical, Vocational Education and Skill Development (WBSCTVESD), formerly known as West Bengal State Council of Technical Education (WBSCTE).
